Not All Fires Are Meant To Burn

Some of the fires we walk through or get close to weren’t ever made to burn us. We judge each spark by our past experiences.

Hindsight is always 20/20, we can see where we made the wrong or right decision. If we allow the fire to purify us from the inside out, we grow. If we don’t we just continue to get burned.

Is it a season or a cycle? So many people say this is a new season myself included while just repeating the same cycle myself included. How do you know the difference? When you choose differently.

When you learn to love yourself, instead of chasing love. It’s when you’re okay to be alone with yourself. Instead of needing the approval of the crowd to determine your self worth.

No one said it would be easy, it takes hard work to heal those old wounds that got you to where you are today. If we don’t allow the healing to take place then those wounds become infected and they begin to spread.

They spread into every relationship we have. Family, kids, coworkers, friends, spouse or if not married that new relationship.

Are you tired yet? I know I am. Tired of getting unsolicited advice. Ouch! At some point you need to rip off the bandaid and allow the infection to heal. Don’t move until the complete infection is healed and the wounds have closed.

Scars are good, they remind us what injured us and how we overcame. They remind us of what tools we used to heal. They remind us that we are stronger and braver than we ever thought.

As my son once told me. Not all fires were meant to burn you. Some were meant to keep you warm.
